4-H/FFA Poultry Show Rules

  1. Judging of poultry will be done on basis of exhibition qualities, with the exception of market poultry and production birds. Market poultry will be judged on meat quality only; while production birds will be judged on egg production qualities only.
  2. Exhibition classes will be judged by breeds.
  3. Put breed and variety on all entries.
  4. All poultry exhibiting at the Ford County Fair must be tested for Pullorum and Typhoid.
  5. Poultry mut be entered at Fairgrounds between 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16.
  6. Cages will be assigned based upon number of pre-entries.
  7. If showing wild game birds (quail, pheasant, etc.), must have proof of purchase available upon request, or license to raise wuch birds.

 

Open Class Poultry Show Rules

  1. Poultry must be entered at Fairgrounds between 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16. Limited to a total of 8 entries for poultry.
  2. All animals are subject to examination by exhibition staff or their representatives

Pullorum & Typhoid Testing

All poultry exhibiting at the Ford County Fair must be tested for Pullorum and Typhoid. Routine surveillance testing will be performed for the Ford County Fair a minimum of once every 5 years. Ford County tested in 2024 and will not test again until 2029.
